A piece I wrote for myself about my honest desire for Fame…and how being Faithful trumps being Famous any day!
It’s ok to not be famous.
Despite what you might believe.
Fame is not a finish line.
Or something to be achieved.
It’s ok to not be famous.
It’s ok if your status remains the same.
The people who will truly love you
are the ones who already know your name.
It’s ok to not be famous.
Or so it seems that I’ve been told.
In grasping for those glittering lights
you can lose a grip on your soul.
It’s ok to not be famous.
It’s ok to not compete.
Endlessly chasing down fans and likes
metrics and retweets.
It’s ok to not be famous.
It’s ok to not be well known.
It’s ok if you never cash it all in
for something you can never own.
It’s ok to not be famous.
In fact, the whole thing is kind of odd.
Fame is man made, a manufactured thing,
not a calling given to you by God.
It’s ok to not be famous.
It’s even better to be content.
Grateful to God for all that you are
Trusting His loving intent.
It’s ok to not be famous.
And it’s ok even if you are.
Just promise yourself to never lose yourself
And refuse to ever play the part.
It’s ok to not be famous.
God may never allow you to be.
But He does allow you to be Faithful.
So today…I will live more faithfully.
